The quality of DVD Replication

DVD replication is the process of creating copies of master DVDs in large numbers. This industrial process is expensive compared to DVD duplication. However, it is worthwhile to invest in DVD replication if you can ensure the quality of the copies delivered.

DVD replication consists of two important processes, namely, glass mastering and molding. In glass mastering, “glass masters” that contain data are created with the help of master DVDs. These glass masters are then allowed to create molds. In injection molding process, these molds are placed in highly advanced and well-featured injection machines to create replicas in the form of plastic discs.

The discs are then formed are bonded together and coated with thin reflective aluminium layers. In the final stages of replication, the discs are protected with lacquer spun onto it and hardened using ultraviolet rays.

As there are number of companies that deal with replication, selecting an ideal one for replication is a difficult process. There are certain points to consider in selecting a good company for DVD replication.

First, it is important to check whether the company has a good portfolio. You can make enquiries regarding the company’s services to find whether they have done any service for high profile companies. You can even ask about the previous replication works. You can query whether they have handled batch sizes of your preferences. You can ask for the company’s turnover time and make sure it matches with your timings. Another important thing is to get an estimate about price details in advance.
